Larger Turbo from S3 (K04) rather then the K03 on the GTI
Larger capacity fuel injectors
Larger intercooler
Engine block main bearing caps, pedestals are reinforced
Conrods have larger rod bolts and new bearings
Piston top ring is improved
The larger K04 turbo and other engine changes are massive upgrades not only for performance but for reliability, the engine in this GTI is very similar to the one in the Audi S3 but that produces 296HP, it was detuned due to being only front wheel drive (not 4WD) what that means is this engine is very under stressed but also very capable in terms of tuning.
