Current Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button and 2008 Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton delighted the crowds by driving a McLaren Orange Validation Prototype (VP) 12C up the famous Goodwood Hill on Saturday and Sunday. Antony Sheriff, McLaren Automotive Managing Director, was the first person to drive up the hill on Friday.

The MP4-12C features a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 pumping out 447 kW (600hp) and 599 Nm of torque. Power is put to the road by a seven-speed “Seamless Shift” dual-clutch transmission, which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in less than 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed in excess of 300km/h.
