Nissan GT-R sets a new record

The updated 2010 Series II GT-R has beaten last year's model

Driven by Nissan’s head driver and former F1 racer Toshio Suzuki, the stock GT-R lapped the famous Nurburgring circuit in 7m 27.56s - almost two seconds faster than the last model.

Differences between the 2010 model and the outgoing version include a 5hp (4kW) increase in power, a slightly modified suspension setup, stickier tyres, and a reprogrammed gearbox.

Nissan is determined to beat the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which posted a lap time of 7m 26.4s last year, and will be making further attempts over the next few days.
