New Mini up for grabs

A new competition will see three couples live in a Mini for the chance to win a Mini Cooper, worth more than $40,000

Mini New Zealand and The Edge radio station are searching for three couples who will ‘Live in a Mini’ for five days, after which time a public vote will decide who wins a new red Mini Cooper.

“This is a fresh interpretation of the popular hands-on-a-car promotion, but with a higher degree of interaction between the competitors and the public,” said Managing Director of BMW Group, Mark Gilbert.

“The couples will be tasked with various challenges during their five days living inside a car at Mini Garage in Ponsonby. The couple who complete these the best and also engage with the public in the greatest spirit via the live internet streaming from inside their home on wheels will likely attract the most votes and win the competition.”

The nationwide search for the three couples gets underway on today with registrations at The Edge website –

The three potential Mini winning couples will be announced on air at the start of December and will then enter the vehicles on Wednesday December 8.

“Mini is a quirky, fun boundary-pushing brand and lends itself perfectly to an event such as this,” said Gilbert.

“The winning prize is a Mini Cooper, but just to give the couples a little extra space they will be enjoying the relative luxury of the larger Mini Clubman.”

One lucky listener who votes for their favourite couple will also win the use of a Mini for the summer months.
