Gold Aston Martin anyone?

At a time most of us are watching our pennies, this special Aston Martin DB7 goes on sale to tempt us all...

After a painstaking process, tuning company Alchemist has achieved its goal of producing this piece of serious bling.

Platinum and gold leaf create the two-tone effect of this Aston Martin DB7, first revealed at the premiere of the James Bond film Quantum of Solace in London.

The car was finished in 24 carat gold, platinum and palladium leaf as ordered by the Italian Prince Rupoli who commissioned it. The original cost of the project is rumored to have cost around £150,000 (NZ$421,905), not including the donor 1995 model-year DB7, and now it's up for auction where it's expected to be sold for between £45,000 and £55,000 ($126,575 and $154,740).

H&H Auctions will run the sale at the upcoming Race Retro event in the UK next month. Book your flights now...
