Designed for the junior sports car buff

Classic British marque Morgan builds an exclusive car for its youngest fans.

Exclusive British sports car maker, Morgan, is celebrating the 100th birthday of its classic three-wheeler with a pedal car that lists for around $10,000.

In keeping with the tradition of doing things our own way, we are delighted to announce a new model, the SuperSport Junior Pedal Car,” a Morgan spokesman said.

For an extra grand you can order the 2009 Morgan SuperSport Junior with leather upholstery.

It’ll fit six-to-13-year-olds, is hand-built from aluminium and has a cast-alloy imitation V-twin engine, a tubular chassis, working headlights and hand-stitched seating.

Morgan plans to build 500 pedal cars, alongside its road cars, beginning in August but says it won’t start production until it gets 200 orders accompanied by non-refundable deposits.

Morgan says the two-thirds scale pedal car offers the marque’s “legendary high power to weight ratio” and is a “future collector’s item.”
