BMW NZ announces its high spec new model for NZ

BMW New Zealand has announced pricing for the brand’s flagship vehicle, the BMW 760Li

Set to be the most highly-equipped BMW offered in New Zealand, the 2010 model BMW 760Li will be priced at $365,000.

BMW’s new flagship joins the BMW 750i, 750Li and 730d to complete the BMW 7 Series range.

The BMW 760Li features a newly developed all-aluminium V12 engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology (with two co-ordinated chargers), High Precision Injection and infinitely variable Double-Vanos camshaft control.

At just under six litres of capacity (5972cc), the engine develops 400kW of power and 750Nm of torque from 1500 rpm.

The luxury saloon reportedly accelerates from 0 to 100kmh in 4.6 seconds.

BMW says the combined fuel consumption rating (EU5) is 13.0 litres per 100 km (303 g/km CO2).

The new twelve-cylinder BMW 760Li incorporates fuel saving and emissions-reducing features from the BMW EfficientDynamics development strategy, including Brake Energy Regeneration, demand-based water pumps as well as a flow-controlled oil pump. The result is a 4.4 per cent reduction in fuel consumption compared to the outgoing model, and CO2 emissions drop by eight per cent.

Standard features on the new BMW 760Li include 20-inch double-spoke light-alloy wheels, Integral Active Steering, active front seats, leather finished instrument panel, ceramic surround for controls, fine-wood inlay leather steering wheel, massage function in the rear-seat backrest, BMW Individual rear-seat reading lights, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, BMW Individual alcantara headliner, BMW Individual full ‘Merino’ leather trim and 8-speed automatic transmission.
