Wheel comes of Inkster’s Evo

Aucklander Glenn Inkster retired from Leg 1 of the Propecia Rally of NZ after reportedly losing a wheel in Special Stage 2 in the western Waikato.

Unconfirmed reports said Inkster’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6.5 lost a wheel after the hub studs sheared.

He had been 33rd after SS1 near Pirongia, having completed the test 3.2 seconds quicker than multiple world motorcycle champion Valentino Rossi (Subaru Impreza WRC 2005) who was one place behind.

Inkster was seeking permission to restart in Leg 2 on Saturday morning.
