February 12, 2007. Christchurch-born Australian speedway racer Kerry Madsen has won his first World of Outlaws Sprint Car main event. The St Mary’s, NSW driver piloted the #11H Selma Shell Maxim to victory in the 25-lap second preliminary feature at the season opening DIRTcar Nationals raced at Florida’s Volusia Speedway Park on Saturday night.

Madsen started from the outside of the front row and swapped the lead with Danny Lasoski in the early laps before edging away to secure his maiden WoO victory.

Lasoski led home Friday night winner Donny Schatz with Craig Dollansky finishing fourth ahead of Sam Hafertepe.
