Martin decides to restart Wairarapa Rally

June 2, 2007, 9.30pm. Providing he and co-driver Grant Marra get medical clearance, Brett Martin will compete in Leg 2 of the Wairarapa Rally tomorrow (Sunday).

They retired from Leg 1 today after their Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 rolled in Special Stage 4. At the time of the accident Martin was running third.

Initially Martin withdrew the car from tomorrow’s leg, but later decided to restart.

He and Marra were seeking medical clearance from doctors at Masterton hospital tonight.

Meanwhile, fellow Evo 9 driver Stewart Taylor has decided not to restart tomorrow.

Taylor crashed during SS3. He and co-driver Warwick Searle were unhurt.
