FPR retains sponsors and signs a new one

Aussie V8 team FPR signs a full complement of sponsors despite tough economic times.

Australian V8 Supercar outfit, Ford Performance Racing (FPR), has re-signed three of its most significant sponsors, Ford, Castrol and Orrcon Steel, and added WesTrac CAT to its portfolio for the 2009 series.

It will also be the primary Ford-sponsored team in the V8 Supercar Championship Series.

“Maintaining current budgets is a challenge right now, let alone expanding them,” says FPR’s newly-appointed Director of Business Operations Mark Roworth. “This is a real testament to the value people place in both our team and the championship as a whole.”

WesTrac managing director, Jim Walker, says FPR’s success over the past years was a key to deciding to sponsor the team.

“We want to align our brand with a team that is strong on and off the podium.” WesTrac plans to use the sponsorship to build and maintain relationships with its customers in residential, commercial and civil construction, as well as mining and haulage.
