Besnard relegated after incident

Officials rule on incident involving David Besnard and John McIntyre at Manfeild.

February 18, 2007. Australian David Besnard has lost 30 NZ V8 championship points and was relegated to fifth in Saturday’s opening race at Manfeild for hitting John McIntyre’s car during a passing move. Besnard had crossed the line third in the Hydraulink Ford Falcon behind Angus Fogg (Ford) and Kayne Scott (Holden Commodore).

McIntyre (Falcon) has been promoted to third and Andy Booth (Commodore) to fourth in the Race 1 results, ahead of Besnard.

Officials also slapped Besnard with a $500 fine, and endorsed his racing licence until May 1.
