Another exciting win for Childs

The weekend of 12 - 13 February brought hot and sticky weather to the Manfield circuit.

Logan Childs was again fired up for the challenge driving the "Deals On Wheels", Mitsubishi Evo 9.

Logan and his team arrived at the circuit one day earlier than usual in order to do some pre-testing runs. This resulted in finding that the Evo was down in power.

Unfortunately due to some turbo problems he qualified 3rd on the grid for Race One on Saturday afternoon. During the race he dropped back to 7th but with his skill was able to come back and finish in 3rd place. However, Kevin Varney was disqualified due to a weight discrepancy thereby improving Logan's position to 2nd.

Thanks to Geoff Argyle's expertise we were able to dyno tune the car and get it back to it premium performance.

In Race Two, on Sunday morning, Logan again started in 3rd position. He had an excellent start and quickly moved in to first place, which he held and took the chequered flag with a comfortable lead from Grant Aitken in a Ford Focus.

In Race Three, the reverse grid on Sunday afternoon, Logan started in 15th position. As in Timaru his ability was incredible and it was very exciting to see him move his way through the field, almost like the other cars were standing still. He won with a margin of over six seconds.

With a second and two firsts it thereby resulted in Logan winning the weekend over all. We are now really looking to the last round in Taupo on the weekend of 12 - 13 March and hope that Logan will again be successful.
