Detroit pimps its on-board entertainment

July 4, 2007, 10am. American vehicle manufacturers are buying into the music downloading phenomenon.

Most recently, Chevrolet has announced for its Uplander minivan (pictured) an entertainment system option with hard drive memory capable of storing 40 movies, 10,000 song tracks or basic video games.

It will later be offered in GM’s other minivans. 

MTA returns to its roots

 Juky 4, 2007, 10am. The Motor Trade Association (MTA) will have the keys of the town during this year's annual meeting in Feilding in the Manawatu.

The October 13-14 meeting is special because it returns to the town where the MTA was founded 90 years ago “as an advocate for professionals in the motor industry."

Today, it has 4700 members in 34 branches.

“The past, the present, and the future will come together as we celebrate the milestone with confidence, and with an eye to what is ahead of us,” a spokesman said
