Fleet eyes turn to Elantra wagon

April 16, 2007, 8.30am. Hyundai has unveiled the new FD Elantra wagon at the Seoul motor show – a vehicle that will be keenly watched by the fleet managers who still miss the highly popular Lantra wagon.

Like its five-door i30 hatchback sibling, the wagon was styled at Hyundai’s European Design Centre in Russelsheim so is said to have a strong European look and feel.
Compared to the hatch, the wagon is 230mm longer at 4475mm. The extra length provides more cargo room.

The enw wagon is 50mm taller and built on a 2700mm wheelbase, 90mm longer than the hatch.

The display car was fitted with Hyundai’s new Gamma 1.6 litre, twin cam, common rail diesel four cylinder engine with variable vane turbocharging.
