Environment, safety top MIA concerns


The environment and world-best safety practice in all areas of Government regulation and are seen as key areas for the strengthened Motor Industry Association (MIA) which recently amalgamated with the Motorcycle Distributors Association (MCDA).

Perry Kerr, CEO of the MIA, said many of the issues being addressed by the two groups were common and it made sense to have one organisation for all the authorised distributors of every category of vehicle using New Zealand roads.
After years in the sales doldrums, the last three years have seen a significant shift back to motorcycles, the MIA said. “Moving to a combined organisation is an important step forward to ensure that the voice of the motorcycling industry is heard and acted on.”
