John McIntyre has retained his NZ V8s crown with a superb display of controlled driving in the 22-lap reverse grid race at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, this afternoon.

His nearest rival for the title, Angus Fogg, finished third, behind rising star Tim Edgell.

All were in Ford Falcons.

Andy Booth finished fourth in the Big Ben Pies Holden Commodore, with Kayne Scott and Andrew Porter completing the top six in their Falcons.

McIntyre started seventh and worked his way into the lead early in the race. Fogg worked his way through from the very back of the grid.

McIntyre’s series winning margin was 25 points.

Scott won the Teretonga round with two wins and the fifth placing, from Fogg and Booth.
