Just last year, a completely stock 1970 Nissan 240z sold in the US for NZ$188,000. Admittedly, it only had 53,000kms on the clock and had some history behind it (having been the example Franklin Mint used to design their die-cast model car and having spent time  at the Whitney Museum of Modern Art on display in New York) but is it really worth the same amount as new GTR?

Well, in 2020, things have gotten even more extreme. A rare racing homologation version of the Nissan 240z, the Z432R, has gone under the hammer in Japan for an eye watering NZ$1.2 million dollars. Having travelled only 98,000kms over it’s 50 year life and being one of only 40-50 cars in existence, it is sure to be a handsome investment piece for it’s new lucky owner.
