"Amarok launched Feb '11 with 4dr double cab 6MT version, 1-Tonne ute with TDI turbo-diesel, 120kW, common rail injection with 2-stage turbocharging, which generates 400Nm @ 1500rpm, or 90kW engine paired with 6MT. For safety, 4-airbags, ESP, ASR, ABS & assist sys's. Amarok avail in NZ in std 'worker' spec as well as a Highline hi-spec version for use as lifestyle vehicle. Hi-end version Amarok features part-chrome mirror housings, various chrome accents outside & inside, fender skirt extensions in body colour, 17in alloys, in addition, this top equipment line characterised by a colour contrasting instrument panel (depending on vehicle configuration), auto climate control (Climatronic), leather detailing, Multi-Connect load securing sys & leather upholstery. Amarok single cab 6MT & new 8AT in double cab configuration is planned for introduction into the NZ market from Q2 '12. The new Amarok 8AT is combined with permanent 4WD an a new 132kW/420Nm Twin Turbo TDI engine, offers increased towing capacity of 3.2 metric tonnes (up to 12% gradient), the additional gear levels enable it to achieve a broader gear ratio spread between the 1st & 8th gears compared to a conventional AT."
