The Yeti is Škoda’s entry to the crossover segment, and was introduced at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, extending the brand’s model range to five.

The 4.2 metre long, five-door vehicle features a ribbed grille and stylish headlamps, a robust and solid look on 17-inch wheels, and high seating position which Škoda says exudes lightness rather than looking bulky.

Two petrol and three diesel engines are available, but New Zealand models will be powered by a 2.0 TDI diesel engine.

Škoda says its higher ground clearance (180mm) and fourth-generation Haldex clutch system, means the Yeti offers good on-road as well as off-road driveability.
