Essentially a Countryman coupe, the two-door Mini Paceman is built on the same platform as the Countryman and designed to use the John Cooper Works 1.6-litre engine.

Mini says the Paceman is designed to “appeal to young, modern, extrovert urbanites” that enjoy standing out from the crowd. To do this, the crossover features a bold face up front, a sloping roofline, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the four-seat cabin has leather upholstery, a full-length center rail system, and unique door panel trim. New tail-lights are taller and longer, wrapping across the hatch and around the rear guards.

Despite the absence of its rear doors, the Paceman is no smaller than its Countryman brother, measuring the same 4110mm in length and 1789mm width. Thanks to the chopped roofline however, the Paceman’s height is shorter, measuring just 1541mm tall to the Countryman’s 1561mm.

Under the hood, the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine produces 155kW (208hp) and 260Nm (192 lb-ft) of torque. It sends power to the ground through Mini’s permanent All4 all-wheel drive system.

While the Paceman is technically a concept, the company hinted it “could become another building block in the ongoing development of the brand and its product portfolio”.
