"All-new Ranger 4WD arrives in NZ in stages as production in Thailand ramps up. 1st will be the double cab XL & XLT in Oct '11, followed by the Supercab & in Jan '12, the single cab models (3-cab styles avail, Double cab 4dr 5seater, Super cab 2dr/rear panel 2dr & no B-pillar, Single cab 2dr). Feaatures a new 3.2L 5cyl diesel engine 147kW/470Nm, designed & built in the UK by Ford matched to 6MT or 6AT. American looking, with a 3-bar grille (chrome on the XLT). Walls of the wellside tray have been made deep, to carry taller loads without sticking out too much, (similar approach taken by the Amarok). Ford says the effective area contained within the box of the wellside is largest in the class, with Super Cab having highest vol 1.45c/m's while the Double Cab is among the top with 1.21c/m's. Bluetooth, USB, iPod integration & voice control over the radio & mob ph is std all models. Cruise control std fitment across the entire range. Dual-zone climate control is fitted to XLT & Wildtrak models. Wildtrak 4WD will come with a 5in colour screen with sat nav & a rear parking camera.
