Warriors and Auto Trader tee off

All in the name of charity

Warriors rugby league stars squared off against Auto Trader’s finest in a charity match at the Huapai Golf Course northwest of Auckland on Monday – all in the name of charity.

Players had a great day’s golfing in the Mad Butcher’s annual Warriors Golf Day with Auto Trader there in support.

For a small donation, the golfers were challenged to beat Auto Trader sales manager, Glen Spry, in a one-on-one nearest to the pin contest on the third hole at Huapai.

Spry wasn’t having his finest day, landing two balls on the practice green, almost collecting a few Warriors at the Mad Butcher barbecue.

It was no surprise the Auto Trader prize table was cleaned out.

The Auto Trader team raised $760 and all proceeds will go to Allergy New Zealand, the Mad Butcher and Warriors chosen charity for the day.

Spry offered special thanks to all who participated: “The players’ generosity was much appreciated”.
