BMW New Zealand, which already sells more diesel than petrol cars, is aiming to tilt the balance even further with two diesel-powered 1-Series convertibles
The BMW 118d Convertible retails from $54,000 and the BMW 123d Convertible from $70,000.
The 118d’s motor develops 105kW of power and 300Nm of peak torque, and BMW quotes combined cycle fuel economy of 5.6 litres/100km.
The 123d’s twin-turbo four-cylinder develops 150kW and 400Nm and has quoted fuel economy of 6.2 litres/100km.
Last year, diesels accounted for 54 percent of BMW’s New Zealand new car sales.
