British and American sources say Lotus will build a 350bhp supercharged version of the soon-to-be-released Evora two-plus-two seat supercar
The more potent Evora coupe is tipped to be faster than 280km/h, though Lotus has remained tight-lipped on the reports. It’s estimated the car could accelerate to 100km/h in around five seconds.
The reports say the Evora will need little re-engineering to accept the supercharged V6 or cope with its power because the notion of a supercharged version was firmly in Lotus engineers’ mind when they designed the naturally-aspirated version.
A development car is understood to have already done some testing.
The naturally-aspirated Evora (pictured) goes on sale in Britain in May and in the crucial American market around September. It’s expected to cost about $180,000.
