Super-rare Koenigsegg taken for a test drive

TV personality Jay Leno had the privilege of taking the Koenigsegg Trevita CCXR to the streets of California

The Koenigsegg Trevita CCXR is one of only three to be produced, with a body made from a white carbon fibre diamond weave.

The exterior features a double carbon fibre wing and carbon ceramic brakes with ABS. A hydraulic lifting system "ensures some everyday usability".

The rear-wheel drive is powered by a 4.8-litre twin-supercharged V8 engine running on biofuel that produces 1018hp (759kW). Torque tops out at 1060Nm.

The Trevita hots the 0-100kmh mark in 2.9 seconds, and 200kmh in 8.75 seconds.

The car is street-legal in the United States, having survived 18 crash tests.
