Here are the first official images of Subaru's new rear-wheel drive, the BRZ Coupe, due to be unveiled at the LA Auto Show
Essentially a preview of the production model that will be launched in December, the BRZ concept has a prominent grille, LED daytime running lights, bulging fenders, a massive rear wing and a four-tailpipe exhaust system.
The BRZ will have a low center of gravity and be a "pure handling delight", according to Subaru.
Recent reports indicate the BRZ's twin, the Toyota FT-86, will weigh 1210kg and have a 2.0-litre Boxer engine that develops 147kW (197hp) and 205Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque.
Production will begin in early 2012.
