Obama’s new official ride

Almost certainly the newly-designed Cadillac limousine built for new US president, Barack Obama, is the ultimate stretched limo

Obama’s Presidential Limousine continues a tradition of Cadillac presidential limos that dates back to Woodrow Wilson and the early days of the automobile.

Obama’s new official car is a completely new design, succeeding George W. Bush’s DTS Presidential Limousine that debuted in 2004.

Specialists designed, developed and tested the new car to an extensive set of specifications, and its functional capabilities and security features have been kept secret.

The rear cabin is roomy and offers the president a secure environment, good visibility and a suite of mobile office features.

Presidential seals are affixed to the exterior rear doors, the US flag flies on the right front fender, and the presidential standard is located on the left front fender when the president travels in the vehicle.

Cadillac has built limousines and special vehicles for US presidents, diplomats, ambassadors and foreign dignitaries since the early 20th century.
