Hyundai’s radical new compact people-mover, the ix20, will be seen in Paris this month
The first compact MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) from Hyundai will appear at the Paris Motor Show on September 30.
The ix20 is the third car, following the ix35 and i45, to adopt Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language, a dramatic departure from the traditional boxy minivan image common in this segment.
Hyundai says the name ix20 reflects the new model’s crossover-like versatility – a vehicle with the ability to serve as a functional people-carrier while providing a dynamic, fun-to-drive experience.
“This is yet another bold new step into the future by Hyundai,” said Tom Ruddenklau, Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai New Zealand.
“Owners here in New Zealand and all around the world are becoming used to Hyundai defining new developments, and the ix20 continues the trend.”
The international motor show in Paris will also give Hyundai the opportunity to showcase the latest developments of its Blue Drive™ eco-focused programme.
