Double cab/chassis now available in New Zealand
Ford has added an XL four-wheel drive Double Cab cab/chassis model to its Ranger line-up in New Zealand.
Primarily targeted at farmers and rural contractors, the XL 4WD Double cab/chassis can carry five passengers and has a drop side, flat deck body.
Priced at $47,090 (the custom-made deck is extra), the cab/chassis is available with manual transmission only.
It runs the powerful 3.0-litre four cylinder Duratorq turbodiesel.
The motor develops 380Nm of peak torque at 1800rpm and 115kW of maximum power at 3200. Ninety percent of the torque is available from 1400rpm.
Ford says the ute can deliver fuel economy of up to 9.2 litres/100km.
The rear suspension has been strengthened, with longer leaf springs and a new stabiliser bar, and the ute can tow a braked trailer of up to three tonnes.
It has driver and passenger front and side airbags, side intrusion beams, ABS brakes with EBD and passive anti-theft System (PATS).
There are also power windows, power mirrors, power door locks with remote central locking, air conditioning and a 12-volt DC accessory socket.
