Mercedes-Benz gives CL-Class a facelift

Mercedes will introduce the facelifted 2011 CL-Class at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The flagship coupe from Mercedes-Benz offers a V8, reduced emissions, and an updated look.

On the outside the new model features a revised V-shaped grille, modified bumpers with triple air intakes and plenty of chrome, curved headlights (with integrated LED daytime running lights), LED fog lights, new tail lights, and a sportier exhaust system.

Inside, wood trim above the COMAND controller has been added.

The biggest changes are under the hood. The CL550 4Matic gets the new twin-turbo 4.6-litre V8 BlueDIRECT engine with 429hp / 320kW and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. According to Mercedes, this model cuts fuel use by 10-15%, while reducing CO2 emissions by up to 23% over the naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre engine it replaces.

This power will get the luxurious coupe to from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds.

Likewise, the CL63 AMG is outfitted with the new 5.5-litre biturbo V8 which produces 400kW / 537hp and 800Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.

The CL600 boasts a twin-turbo 5.5-litre V12, with 510hp / 380 kW and 612 lb-ft (829Nm), which enables it to run from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds.

The other V12 model, the CL65 AMG, has 621hp / 463kW and 738 lb-ft (999 Nm) of torque.

Technological goodies include Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Attention Assist, Night View Assist Plus, and Active Body Control with crosswind stabilization.
