Video: A Mercedes-Benz demo driver has drifted an AMG to the new world record

Mercedes-Benz driver Mauro Calo has set a new drifting world record by continuously power-sliding a C63 AMG sedan for more than 2.3 kilometres.

The professional driver clocked a total drift distance of 2308 metres, beating the 1914 metres recorded by Vaughn Gittin Jnr.

Calo completed the feat at Mercedes-Benz World in Surrey, UK, performing his run on a narrow circle of bitumen and eventually forced to finish after seven laps by shredded rear tyres.
