According to a US survey, Kia Sportage owners are a satisfied bunch
The Kia Sportage has topped the Compact Crossover SUV category in the AutoPacific 2009 Vehicle Satisfaction Awards (VSA).
The VSA programme is an industry benchmark for measuring how satisfied an owner is with their new car or light truck and reflects the opinions of consumers throughout the US. In the latest survey the Kia Sportage was recognised above other vehicles in the segment for offering superior value and satisfaction.
Owner satisfaction is measured across 48 categories relating to specific areas of a vehicle's operation, comfort, safety and overall purchase or lease experience.
The 2009 ratings reflect input from more than 25,000 buyers and lessees of new vehicles bought from September through December 2008.
“The findings in this survey mirror our experience with Sportage owners in New Zealand,” says Todd McDonald, General Manager of Kia Motors New Zealand.
“The compact SUV segment is very competitive and buyers are very clear in their expectations because, as a recreational vehicle, it is required to fulfill more roles than an average car. Typically an SUV like the Kia Sportage doubles as a family and business vehicle, plus it also has a recreational role and, periodically it is expected to be loaded up with all sorts of gear.
The Kia Sportage features plenty of passenger and cargo space, while remaining fairly compact to make it easy and convenient to drive around town.
The Kia Sportage has petrol and diesel engine options, in both 2x4 and 4x4 models.
