Subaru New Zealand is selling a limited run of upmarket Luxury versions of the Impreza sedan and hatchback
The Impreza 2.0R Sport Luxury lists at $35,490 with five-speed manual gearbox, or $36.490 with four-speed Sportshift automatic. Sedan and hatch versions are the same price.
For the extra $1500 over a standard Sport, Luxury buyers get leather upholstery and a sunroof, items which Subaru says are worth $4000.
Standard equipment includes sports seats, rear privacy glass, a six-stack CD player with 10 speakers, climate-control air-conditioning, leather-wrapped gear lever knob and steering wheel, a mesh sports grille, a rear spoiler and a sports body kit.
Impreza Sports run a 2.0-litre four-cylinder DOHC Boxer engine developing 110kW at 6400rpm and 196Nm of peak torque at 3200rpm.
Symmetrical All Wheel Drive is standard along with 17-inch alloy wheels and chrome tailpipe tips (the sedan has dual exhausts). Both sedan and hatch have split-folding rear seatbacks for increased luggage capacity.
Safety gear includes six airbags (front, side and cabin-length side curtain airbags), electronic stability control, and ABS anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist.
