Leading New Zealand golfer Ryan Fox is set to teach lucky Kiwis to drive like a pro.
Two-time PGA title winner Ryan Fox is back in the driving seat this week in his new role as ambassador for Holden New Zealand.
GM of marketing at Holden New Zealand, Marnie Samphier, says Holden's history with golf is long and proud, and this partnership builds on the relationship that was developed with Fox during the Holden NZ PGA Championship in March.
"We are delighted to team up with someone of Ryan's calibre not only as a golfer but also as a person. Ryan was great to work with over the Holden NZ PGA and this partnership just seemed like a natural fit for both," said Marnie Samphier.
To celebrate, Holden is giving one lucky Kiwi the opportunity to drive like a pro – both on and off the golf course.
The hashtag #DriveLikeRyan launched this week and will see a Kiwi and a mate enjoy a round of golf and lunch with Fox, the country's second highest ranked male golfer.
In addition to swinging into action on the green, the winner will get to drive Fox's favourite vehicle, the top-of-the-line Holden Commodore Redline for a day.
"I am excited for this opportunity to join the Holden team as an ambassador," says Fox. "I first met the Holden team at the Holden NZ PGA Championship earlier this year. They were a great bunch of people and I also enjoyed taking a Redline on the race track with Holden ambassador Greg Murphy."
"The Redline is a fantastic car to drive, a performance car with all the bells and whistles, a joy to drive, plus it fits at least four golf club sets in the boot so I can take my mates for a round of golf."
Fox is also looking forward to giving the #DriveLikeRyan winner some insight into the professional golf world. "I'm not a coach but I'm sure I could offer a few helpful tips to improve thier technique and I look forward to playing a round or two with them."
