Ford Racing is giving muscle car fans plenty to drool over with a range of performance modifications for the 2010 model Mustang pony car unveiled at this week’s Los Angeles Auto Show
Ford Racing modifications are track-inspired, ready-to-install and come with a factory warranty.
Ford Racing showed four modified 2010 Mustangs in LA.
A Kona blue V6 convertible in Kona Blue had the V6 Ford Racing Handling Package and Ford Racing Short Throw Shifter.
A GT coupe in Torch Red had the GT Ford Racing Handling Package, and a Red Candy GT coupe was fitted with the GT Ford Handling Package and Ford Racing 400-horsepower polished supercharger.
A Sterling Grey GT convertible had the GT Ford Racing Handling Package, shaker bonnet, Ford Racing Short Throw Shifter, Ford Racing X-Pipe, Ford Racing Axle Back Mufflers, Ford Racing Shorty Headers and Ford Racing differential cover.
The Ford Racing handling package lowers the centre of gravity to improve high-speed handling and strengthens the chassis with front and rear anti-roll bars and strut tower brace.
Ford says the package allows customers to race the Mustang without sacrificing daily driving comfort.
The Short Throw Shifter is functional and stylish, and reduces the effort needed to shift gears by 32 percent, the X-Pipe provides a raspier exhaust note, and the Axle Back Mufflers provide a deeper, throatier sound while increasing exhaust flow.
Ford Racing Shorty Headers are 4kg lighter than stock exhaust manifolds and have better gas flow. The stronger and lighter Differential Cover has load bolts to provide additional support for the differential bearing caps, increasing ring and pinion gear life.
