Coyote to power Falcon

Ford Australia has confirmed that the new Falcon will be powered by the Coyote V8 engine

According to Australia's GoAuto, the Coyote will replace the 5.4-litre Boss engine when it is discontinued in July because of new emission laws coming into play.

The new Coyote engine will be imported from Ford in Canada, and then supercharged version of the 5.0-litre direct injection V8 will be developed for FPV to take on the power of HSV.

The engine was earlier revealed in the 2011 Mustang.

In standard naturally-aspirated form the Coyote develops 307kW of power and 529Nm of torque, beating the 290kW/520Nm of the current XR8.
