European reports say French carmaker, Citroen, will revive its iconic DS nameplate for a trio of cars due to go on sale from 2010
The first new DS is rumoured to debut as a concept car at next month’s Geneva motor show in Switzerland.
Citroen’s swoopily-styled DS model (pictured) caused a sensation when it arrived in 1955. Its futuristic lines were like nothing else on the market and modern enough to survive – with minor changes – into 1975.
The DS had hydro-pneumatic suspension and later versions had headlights that swivelled in synch with the steering to illuminate the car’s path during cornering.
Rumours say the new DS line-up will consist of a small DS3, a bigger DS4, and a range-topping DS5.
