Fancy driving a 610-horsepower luxury car on ice, 60km from the Arctic Circle, in the midst of a Scandinavian winter?
That’s what British luxury car maker Bentley is offering its customers – and anyone else who may be interested – in February and March 2009.
And putting the drivers and cars through their paces will be former multiple world rally champion Juha Kankkunen, who holds a speed record for driving on ice. He set it in a Bentley.
Bentley calls the event Power on Ice, and will use 560 to 610-horsepower, four-wheel drive Continentals. Instructors will brief the drivers and take them across a frozen lake in central Finland.
Participants will stay in a specially-built boutique hotel and chalets in the small town of Ruka, about 800km north of Helsinki.
