Driven by the passion and enthusiasm of a small group of Bentley engineers and designers, the experiment became a reality.
The Continental Supersports is a muscular two-seater that weighs 110kg less than the Continental GT Speed, but with more power and torque.
It claims 621 bhp, 0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds and will reach a top speed of 329 km/h.
The Supersports is also an experiment in renewable fuels, with the launch of its FlexFuel technology. FuelFlex enables the car to run on both petrol (gasoline) and biofuel.
Other enhancements on the Continental Supersports include a new ‘Quickshift’ transmission that halves shift times, chassis enhancements including retuned steering and suspension, retuned dampers and anti-roll bars. Also, a 40:60 rear-biased torque split for the all-wheel drive system, a wider rear track, and bespoke lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels.
The Continental Supersports will be available worldwide from late 2009.
