Audi's new powerful coupe, the RS 5, will be displayed at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show
Under the bonnet of the new Audi RS 5 is a 4.2-litre V8 pushing out 450hp via direct fuel injection to all four wheels. The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic.
The newest model in the RS stable will reportedly accelerate from 0-100kmh in 4.6 seconds, before topping out at 250kmh.
Fuel economy has also been considered, with figures released of 10.8 litres per 100km.
The RS5 also features friction reduction technology, new crown-gear center differential and a new exhaust system.
Other performance tweaks include a revised braking system, a modified electronic stabilisation program, and a recalibrated speed-dependent servotronic steering system .
The new model has a reduced ride height, 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, twin oval exhaust pipes integrated in the rear bumper, a large diffuser, and a rear spoiler which automatically extends at 120kmh and retracts at 80kmh.
Inside, the RS5 has leather/Alcantara sports seats, a sport steering wheel, carbon fiber inlays, piano black accents, and aluminium trim.
Sales of the Audi RS 5 will begin in Europe the spring. No word yet on sales in NZ.
