Audi has confirmed the Q3 SUV will go into production, joining the Q5 and Q7 from 2011
The new Audi Q3 will likely be positioned below the Q5 model.
Audi says it will build the Q3 SUV at SEAT’s plant in Martorell in Spain, spending €300million to expand the factory in preparation for building 80,000 units a year.
The Q3 will be a coupe-like five-door SUV with seat positions, wheel size, and ground clearance characteristic of a typical SUV.
Engine choices will reportedly be a 170hp 2.0-litre TFSI engine hooked up to a manual or seven-speed S Tronic ’box, or a 200hp version of the same engine with S Tronic only.
There will be a 2.0-litre TDI diesel choice also, with a 140hp version with a manual gearbox, and a 170hp version with S Tronic.
