Peugeot has released the first photographs of its 3008 five-seat crossover which will become its first hybrid car in 2011
It’s built on the Peugeot 308 platform and will be sold in Europe with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel engines, the range-topper developing 122kW.
It will also be available with petrol motors, a naturally-aspirated 1.6-litre VTi developing 90kW and a 112kW turbocharged THP150.
Transmissions vary engine to engine but include five and six-speed manuals, a six-speed automatic and Peugeot-Citroen's six-speed automated manual.
Peugeot will later produce a hybrid 3008 with rear-wheel drive and the option of four-wheel drive. Peugeot may offer both petrol- and diesel-electric hybrid 3008s.
