Provisionally crowned for the third successive year, 2006 World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb arrives in to Auckland today for the start of New Zealand's largest annual sporting event.
Arriving with fellow Kronos Racing co-driver Daniel Elena shortly after 3pm, the pair will partake in the event reconnaissance before Loeb returns to Europe for further recouperation following his broken arm.
Hoping to contest the event to help the team secure the Manufacturers title, Loeb's injury during a mountain bike accident has seen recovery take higher priority. His plan has been to partake in the event reconnaissance to assist in 2007 preparation where he attempts his fourth consecutive drivers title challenge.
2006 Propecia Rally New Zealand starts on Thursday with an official ceremony before the action takes to gravel roads around the greater Waikato region from Friday through to Sunday.
