Teretonga anniversary weekend in November

A special race meeting, anniversary dinner and social get-togethers will mark Teretonga’s 50th birthday from November 9-11.

May 23, 2007, 3pm. Blast from the Past, a celebratory race meeting, will form the centrepiece of festivities to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Teretonga Park motor racing circuit near Invercargill this November.

The November 10 race meeting will be restricted to drivers, Southland Sports Car Club members and cars or replicas that have competed at any of the 244 meetings run at the circuit in the past 50 years.

Race vehicles must comply with current regulations and drivers must hold a current Motorsport New Zealand racing licence.

Later that evening a Commemorative Dinner and Chat Show will be held at the Ascot Park Hotel in Invercargill.

On Sunday there will be a day of light competition. Past and present members, workers and competitors will be able to enjoy drives around the circuit and gather for a social lunch.

The weekend begins with a get-together in the Teretonga clubrooms on the Friday evening.
