Sponsor weekend success for James Holder Motorsport

An action packed weekend proved a big hit for sponsors of both the James Holder Motorsport team and the Propecia Rally of New Zealand with nearly 40 people jumping in the hotseat beside Auckland rally driver James Holder.

Securing the Manukau Super Stage for their team's sponsor's day on Saturday, thanks to the efforts of team manager Tania Styles as well as both Transit and Motorsport New Zealand, Holder and co-driver Richard Ellis played host to over 30 key sponsors and supporters giving them the chance to experience the thrill of a lap around the track at full rally pace.

Despite the inclement weather conditions a good turn out kept the team busy and with only 1 minor off-road excursion the day was hailed as a big success.

"It was a great opportunity to thank all the people who have helped us over the past season," said Holder. "Seeing the reactions on everyone's faces as they jumped out at the end was fantastic, and it definitely gave them a better understanding of what goes on inside the car".

Capping off what proved to be a very exciting day the team were rewarded with a long night spent under the car preparing it for the Rally of New Zealand sponsors day at Mystery Creek on Sunday.

Working until the small hours of the morning, the car was loaded onto the trailer by 4:30am with the boys electing to leave for Hamilton immediately, favouring a short sleep in the van over getting out of bed and making the trip a couple of hours later!

Not wanting to miss an opportunity to win a free entry to the New Zealand round of the World Rally Championship, and keen to impress in the only 2wd present at the event, Holder eagerly agreed to strap another 8 people in the car and blast around the purpose-built 4km track.

Impressed by the potential of the world-class facilities the team is hoping to return in a competitive capacity for this year's Rally of New Zealand. And although they missed out on the free entry Holder and Ellis remained upbeat about the day and are looking at putting together a budget to take part in the prestigious event.

The next outing for the team is at the final round of the New Zealand Rally Championship in Nelson on September 23-24th.

The team would like acknowledge the valued support of Monit Rally Computers, Ellis Law, Attentive Design, Bendon Man, Amberley Kitchens, CST Nexia, Alexander Group, Toyotaz Galore, CPS, Jamex, MSC and
