After a disastrous crash at Nelson, Kieran Hall and Peter Hart have to bow out from racing for the rest of the season
Kieran Hall went into the final round of the Vantage Aluminium New Zealand Rally Championships on the weekend leading the Rookie championship on points and 4th overall, however it wasn’t to be.
Managing to avoid punctures that plagued most of the teams, at the start of the 6th and final stage a large rock sent the Subaru Impreza into a massive roll at 170kph.
Peter Hart and 25-year-old Kieran were lucky enough to walk away from the accident.
Now the team will focus on stripping the car to a bare shell before making a decision on whether the car can be rebuilt or a new car needed.
The team hopes to return next year, however will have to find funding to fix or replace the car.
The team finished 7th overall and 3rd in the Rookie award.
