Seven-times world champion driver says Germany’s A1GP ace has the potential to go to the very top of the sport.
May 2, 2007, 10.30 am. Newly-crowned A1GP champion Nico Hulkenberg got the best accolade any young driver could hope to get when he picked up the A1GP Cup of Nations trophy in London this week.
Seven-times Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, who presented him with the Cup, said: “Nico has everything he needs for the future.
“It is a long way to go but he is working hard, so why can he not achieve everything?
“Nico’s driving and A1 Team Germany's achievements this year have been excellent.”
Hulkenberg said that during the A1GP series he had achieved “what a driver always wants to achieve – winning races and winning a championship.
“That's what we did this year. It is a good championship and it's great to represent your country. I'm proud to have won this title.”
