Stowell continues his winning ways

Timaru’s Neville Stowell extended his domination of the 2008/2009 Kumho Sport Saloon Series when he won the opening race of round five at Ruapuna yesterday.

Nissan Skyline GT-R driver Stowell set the pace in qualifying and then won the opening race from Ron Shelton.

Shelton incurred a 10-second penalty but still had enough time in hand to secure second place in his Nissan Silvia.

A third Timaru driver, Matt Dunn, completed the podium in his turbocharged Toyota Corolla.
