Nick Ross looks for top 10 finishes in Manfeild NZ V8 races.
February 15, 2007. Last year, Manfeild was a turning point for Nick Ross in the NZ V8 series, and he’s hoping for more success at the Manawatu circuit this weekend.
Last year a spectacular charge through the field on Sunday morning's Race 2 saw Ross move from a 28th-place start to an eighth place finish.
Ross hopes he can put together a good string of results, but plans to be starting from much higher up than 28th.
"I like Manfeild,” he says. “There are plenty of opportunities and plenty of tight areas that make things interesting. "We'll go there and hope our set-up goes well."
After a poor first round, improvements to the Parker ENZED Holden Commodore’s set-up and a very competitive lease engine are paving the way for a consistent rise in the championship standings.
"We're moving up slowly, working on it and doing everything we can do. We're looking for a couple more top 10 finishes.”
After three rounds Ross is in 18th place and is aiming at getting into the top 10.
"We're moving forward and making improvements with the car all the time and we're getting closer and faster which is the main thing for getting up to the front end (of the field)."
